PandaDoc Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
A PandaDoc review with October 2026 prices: a strong proposal builder, a second meter on top of seats, and what this year’s users praise and complain about.
PandaDoc is one of the best tools you can buy for writing a proposal and getting it signed, and one of the easier ones to overpay for. This PandaDoc review prices it as of October 2026: the free plan, the per-seat plans, and the usage credits that bill on top.
I and my team have used PandaDoc, and for this review I checked its pricing page, plan comparison and help center in October 2026, then went through this year's reviews on Capterra, Trustpilot and Reddit. The short answer: worth it for sales documents, expensive for signing alone.

PandaDoc review verdict
PandaDoc is the right tool when the document is the sale. You build the proposal or quote in its editor, drop in a pricing table, send it, watch when the client opens it, and collect the signature and payment in one place. Few tools do that whole path as well.
It is the wrong tool when you only need a finished PDF signed. You pay for an editor you don't open, and the 2026 reviews below show billing and support are where unhappy customers end up.
- Best for: agencies, consultancies and small sales teams that send proposals, quotes and contracts every week, especially with CRM sync on Business.
- Skip if: you sign finished files a few times a month, you need more than 2 recipients on a free document, or you want to pay month to month without watching renewal dates.
Here is how users rate PandaDoc on review sites, checked October 2026: Capterra 4.5 from 1,260 reviews and Trustpilot 2.2 from 690 reviews.
“I do not use e-signing very often for my business and PandaDoc is very user friendly for my clients as well as flexible to my budget.”
“I also like the e sign functionality and the ability to see when recipients open or view a document.”
“The ability to have dynamic documents, and easy to use template, and content libraries have shaved so much time off my schedule.”
“The pricing became difficult to justify, especially as many features I expected to be included required additional paid add-ons.”
“I do not love that it is not easy to edit a sent contract and also contracts expire which creates issues with having to resend and confusing clients.”
“Just dealt with their customer service as I saw a charge come through for the year. I wanted to go to a month by month plan.”
Review snapshot checked Oct 2026.
PandaDoc's own pricing page shows a G2 rating of 4.7 from 3,324 reviews "as of 06/11/2026", next to an older Trustpilot snapshot of 4 out of 5. Trustpilot itself showed 2.2 when I checked in October 2026, so read the vendor's badges as a starting point, not the current picture.
What PandaDoc users say in 2026
The rating split has a simple cause. Capterra reviewers mostly describe the product they use every day, and they like it. Trustpilot reviewers in 2026 mostly write after a billing dispute, a support ticket or an interface change.
Here is what both groups say, theme by theme, with every quote dated 2026 and linked.
Pricing and billing: annual renewals and refunds
This is the biggest theme on Trustpilot this year. Annual plans renew for the full year, and reviewers who asked for a refund after the charge say they did not get one.
“Just dealt with their customer service as I saw a charge come through for the year. I wanted to go to a month by month plan.”
“They would not give me a refund after I immediately told them I did not need their service”
No refund, even though he spoke up right away.
“DO NOT sign an annual agreement with them”
A cancel that became a downgrade: Jamie thought they had cancelled and was billed for the year.
“many features I expected to be included required additional paid add-ons”
Add-ons.
“flexible to my budget”
He does not e-sign often, and the price fits that.
Credits that expire: a German-language Trustpilot review from September 2026 describes usage credits bought days before the end of a billing period expiring unused, with no refund or carry-over.
Support: slow replies and an AI chat first
Support complaints run through most 2026 one-star reviews. Not everyone agrees.
“been waiting 3 weeks for a reply for an urgent issue”
Long waits.
“The only support they offer in live time is an AI chat that doesn't listen and just sends you links to articles”
Bot before human.
“Can't get anyone on a phone or video call”
No calls.
“the customer team is very helpful and responsive”
“never had a problem with the program or their customer service”
New accounts suspended: two Trustpilot reviewers in July and August 2026 say their account was suspended minutes after sign-up.
Ease of use: easy to start, harder after the changes
Short positive reviews this year mostly say the same thing: it is easy. The exception is plain PDFs.
“you cannot easily edit PDFs and then send for signature”
Moe paid for a year.
“Excellent app and very easy to use, I highly recommend this platform!!”
“In my opinion the best document sender in the game”
Signer experience: painless to sign, if the email arrives
Clients mostly find signing easy. The catch is delivery and expiry.
“consistently land in spam boxes, both for us and for our clients”
Emails in spam: PandaDoc's document emails.
“started landing in clients' junk folders”
The signature links.
“contracts expire which creates issues with having to resend and confusing clients”
Expired contracts.
“the process of signing a document is painless”
For the corporate clients who book her conference rooms.
This review of DocuSign, PandaDoc and Nitro Sign from Thebusinessdive (August 2026) shows PandaDoc's signing, document creation and pricing on screen. The channel uses affiliate links, so weigh its ranking accordingly.
Features: the editor wins, the 2026 overhaul does not
The praise is consistent: the editor, templates and content library save time. The complaints are about change. In June 2026, several reviewers described a reworked interface.
“Deleting a document is now a multi-step process”
Slower everyday tasks.
“the drag-and-drop approach is gone”
The same reviewer, on text boxes.
“the recent changes that have been made to the platform”
Harder contract drafting: Almudena called them awful.
“The new template editor is painfully slow and clunky”
A slower template editor.
“changed the rules of their plan so that you could only have five templates”
Plan limits changed mid-subscription.
“making 'updates' which are not improvements”
Even Kat's positive review carries the same warning.
“The ability to have dynamic documents, and easy to use template, and content libraries have shaved so much time off my schedule”
In a 4-star review.
“PandaDoc is intuitive and flexible”
The API, automations and the MCP beta
PandaDoc has a public API and, since this year, a Claude and ChatGPT connector through MCP, in beta on every plan "for a limited time". I found no 2026 user reviews of the MCP connector yet. The API reviews are about cost, not capability.
“Once they rope you in, 80 cents PER DOCUMENT for an API call”
Per-document API charges.
“I went over my API credit limit mid-month and rather than a heads-up or grace period, I just got cut off”
Hard stops at zero credits.
“an additional USD 2 for every document I generate automatically via Make.com, which was previously included in my subscription”
Automations moved onto credits: Ivan, on a yearly Business plan, says PandaDoc now charges this.
That matches PandaDoc's own FAQ, which says API calls are rejected once usage credits reach zero, until you buy more or upgrade.
What PandaDoc is and its key features
PandaDoc is a document platform for creating, sending, tracking and e-signing business documents, sold per seat with a free plan. It started as a proposal tool, and the sales features are still the core. In January 2026, co-founder Mikita Mikado moved to chief product officer and Keith Rabkin became CEO, per PandaDoc's press release.

The key features, as its pricing page listed them in October 2026:
- Drag-and-drop document editor on every plan, including Free, with templates (5 on Free and Starter, unlimited on Business).
- Real-time tracking and notifications, plus recipient analytics showing when a document is opened and viewed.
- Signing order, in-person signing and an audit trail, with auto reminders and auto expirations.
- Pricing tables, payment collection and a product catalog for quotes.
- Business adds custom quotes, CRM integrations, custom branding, a content library, deal rooms and approval workflows.
- Enterprise adds CPQ, workflow automation, smart content, single sign-on, team workspaces and Notary.
- An API and an MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT (beta), with the API on usage credits.
- A mobile app for creating, tracking and signing on a phone or iPad.
What PandaDoc does well
PandaDoc's strengths are real, and they are the reason it has so many loyal users:
- It builds the document, not just the signature. Pricing tables, a content library and payments in the same file are what agencies and sales teams pay for.
- You see what the client did. Open and view tracking is one of the most praised features in the reviews above.
- A real free plan. Free sends 5 documents a month with no credit card, which covers a small, two-party workload for $0.
- A trial with no card. The pricing FAQ says the free trial is valid for 14 days and you are not charged when it starts.
- Monthly plans can step down. Its help center says monthly customers can upgrade in busy months and downgrade to the free plan in quieter ones, effective at the end of the billing cycle.
- Recipient checks on Business and up. SMS verification and knowledge-based plus ID verification are included on Business and Enterprise.
If your business needs SOC 2 or HIPAA, PandaDoc's pricing page lists SOC 2 Type II compliance on its plan table and marks HIPAA compliance as optional, and its HIPAA page covers a Business Associate Agreement through sales (checked October 2026). Get the plan confirmed in writing before you buy.
PandaDoc pricing in 2026
PandaDoc has four plans and leads with annual prices; its toggle says "Save up to 46%". Here is what the pricing page and its help center plan comparison listed, checked October 2026:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Documents | Templates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 5 a month, 2 recipients per document | Up to 5 |
| Starter | $19 per seat a month | $35 per seat a month | Unlimited uploads and e-signatures | Up to 5 |
| Business | $49 per seat a month | $65 per seat a month | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom, per seat or per document | Custom | Unlimited | Unlimited |
Prices exclude tax and were checked October 2026 on PandaDoc pricing and the PandaDoc Help Center. For one person, a year costs $228 on Starter annual, $420 on Starter monthly, $588 on Business annual and $780 on Business monthly.
On top of the seat, these cost extra or need usage credits on Starter and Business:
- Usage credits: the API, Zapier, Make, web forms, bulk send, internal automations and the Salesforce integration. PandaDoc's FAQ says a credit is used "when you create a new document through an integration or automated workflow". Credit-pack prices are not published.
- Paid add-ons: email white-labeling and premium support are optional extras.
- Annual-only features: recipient verification is listed as "annual plan only".
- Overage: the pricing FAQ describes a document limit with charges of $3.50 per document on Starter monthly, $2 on Starter annual and $2.60 on Business monthly, even though the plan table lists paid plans as unlimited.

Where PandaDoc falls short
The weak spots are mostly about money and plan rules, not the product:
- Two meters. The seat is one bill, and usage credits for the API, automations, forms and bulk send are another, with no public price list. Reviewers above describe workflows stopping when credits ran out.
- Annual renewals with no refund. Several billing reviews quoted above describe an annual charge they did not expect, and one says a refund was refused.
- The free plan is narrower than it looks. 5 documents a month, but only 2 recipients per document, so a three-party contract needs a paid seat.
- 5 templates on Starter. Unlimited templates start at Business, $49 per seat a month billed annually (checked October 2026).
- The FAQ and the plan table disagree. The plan table says unlimited documents on paid plans, while the FAQ describes a limit with $2 to $3.50 per extra document. Ask sales to confirm your plan's limit in writing.
- Support and change management. Slow tickets, an AI chat first and a mid-year interface overhaul are the most common 2026 complaints.
What a year of PandaDoc costs at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month
For one sender, PandaDoc's seat price does not change with volume, so the cost per document falls as you send more. The table uses the prices listed in October 2026, before tax and before any usage credits.
| Volume (one sender) | Cheapest plan that covers it | 1 year, annual billing | 1 year, monthly billing | 3 years, annual billing | Seat cost per document (annual) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 a month (60 a year) | Free, if no document has more than 2 recipients; otherwise Starter | $0 on Free, or $228 on Starter | $0 on Free, or $420 on Starter | $0 on Free, or $684 on Starter | $0 on Free, or $3.80 on Starter |
| 10 a month (120 a year) | Starter | $228 | $420 | $684 | $1.90 |
| 25 a month (300 a year) | Starter | $228 | $420 | $684 | $0.76 |
Source: PandaDoc pricing and the PandaDoc Help Center, checked October 2026. If you need CRM sync, unlimited templates or bulk send, use Business instead: $588 a year annual, $780 monthly, $1,764 over 3 years annual. Monthly Starter over 3 years comes to $1,260.
Which PandaDoc plan fits you
The right plan depends on what you do before the signature and how many people send:
| Your situation | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One person, 5 or fewer two-party documents a month | Free | $0, no card, 5 documents a month with 2 recipients each |
| Freelancer or consultant sending proposals every week | Starter, billed monthly | $35 a month, and you can step down to Free in quiet months |
| Steady sender who will stay all year | Starter, billed annually | $228 a year, if you are sure about the renewal |
| Sales team that needs CRM sync, approvals and branding | Business | $49 per seat a month annual; adds CRM, content library, deal rooms |
| Team sending one agreement to many people | Business plus credits | Bulk send and web forms run on usage credits |
| Company needing SSO, CPQ or per-document pricing | Enterprise | Custom pricing through sales |

The tree in words: if you build proposals or quotes and need CRM sync, approvals or more than 5 templates, pick Business; otherwise Starter, on monthly billing until you are sure. If you only sign finished files, Free covers 5 two-party documents a month, and above that, compare the yearly cost first.
How I reviewed PandaDoc
I and my team have used PandaDoc. For this review I also read PandaDoc's own pages and what its users wrote in 2026, and checked everything again on October 3, 2026:
- Vendor pages, read October 3, 2026: the pricing page with its plan table and FAQ, the plan comparison and billing articles in the help center.
- Review platforms: Capterra and Trustpilot, October 2026, reading only reviews dated 2026. G2 blocked my requests, so its rating appears only as PandaDoc reports it.
- Forums: Reddit threads from 2026 about PandaDoc, linked where quoted.
Every price on this page names the vendor page it came from, with the month it was checked.
Who should skip PandaDoc
Skip PandaDoc if you are one or two people getting finished contracts, NDAs and client agreements signed a few times a month, unevenly. Its free plan stops at 2 recipients per document, and every paid plan charges each seat for the whole year, busy or quiet.
That case is why we built SignWith: no seats and no subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. Every signed document uses one of your 3 free documents for the month or a credit, including a document only you sign.
- Upload a PDF, JPEG or PNG, add signature, date, text and checkbox fields, and set the signing order.
- Your recipients sign in the browser on any device, with no account.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
The honest fit: if you just want a simple way to get a document signed, with no subscription and no hidden fees, use SignWith. If you have a sales team, build proposals and quotes, need CRM sync or need HIPAA or SOC 2 from your vendor, stay with PandaDoc, because that is what it is built for.
10 signed documents a month for a year, one sender
- SignWith, cheapest packs84 paid documents: 1 x Basic + 1 x Pro + 1 x Business$57
- SignWith Lifetime Dealone-time, unlimited credits$149
- PandaDoc Starter, annual$19 per seat month, 1 seat$228
- PandaDoc Starter, monthly$35 per seat month, 1 seat$420
What 10 signed documents a month for a year costs, one sender:
- PandaDoc Starter: $228 on annual billing or $420 on monthly billing (checked October 2026).
- SignWith: the free allowance covers 3 documents every month, and one Basic pack ($9), one Pro pack ($19) and one Business pack ($29) cover the other 84 of the year.
The other volumes, honestly:
| Volume (one sender) | PandaDoc, cheapest option for a year | SignWith, cheapest option for a year |
|---|---|---|
| 5 a month | $0 on Free if every document has 2 or fewer recipients; $228 on Starter annual otherwise | The free allowance plus one Pro pack ($19) |
| 10 a month | $228 on Starter annual ($420 monthly) | One Basic, one Pro and one Business pack, as above |
| 25 a month | $228 on Starter annual ($420 monthly) | The Lifetime Deal ($149 one-time), which costs less than packs at this volume |
PandaDoc prices checked October 2026 on PandaDoc pricing. At 5 two-party documents a month, PandaDoc Free at $0 is hard to beat. At 25 a month over 3 years, PandaDoc Starter comes to $684 on annual billing, against a single Lifetime Deal payment of $149.
Send it from your own code or your AI assistant
PandaDoc also has an API and an MCP connector, but its API runs on usage credits bought on top of a seat. SignWith has a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, and both come with every SignWith account.
They run on the same pay-per-document credits as the dashboard: no subscription and no developer plan, 3 free documents a month, then you buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. The API is not a reason to pick SignWith if you need team seats, compliance programs or enterprise workflows.
If you need templates, bulk send, reminders, team accounts or integrations today, those are coming soon on SignWith, so PandaDoc is the better fit for now. SignWith is used by 1,000+ businesses.
No subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. One credit covers one signed document, however many people sign it.
- Unlimited credits
- Never expires
- One-time payment

Frequently asked questions
Is PandaDoc free?
- Yes, there is a free plan. PandaDoc Free lets you create 5 documents a month with up to 5 templates and no credit card, and its help center limits each free document to 2 recipients. Checked October 2026 on PandaDoc pricing.
Is PandaDoc worth it?
- It is worth it if you build proposals, quotes and contracts every week, because the editor, pricing tables and open tracking are the product. It is poor value if you only sign finished PDFs a few times a month, because Starter costs $228 per seat a year on annual billing (checked October 2026).
Does PandaDoc have a monthly plan?
- Yes. Starter is $35 per seat a month and Business $65 per seat a month on monthly billing, against $19 and $49 billed annually, per the PandaDoc Help Center in October 2026. Monthly customers can also downgrade to the free plan in quieter months.
Can I cancel PandaDoc and get a refund?
- You can cancel from Settings > Billing, and the help center says cancellations follow the terms agreed when the account was created. Several 2026 Trustpilot reviewers say PandaDoc refused refunds on annual charges, so cancel before the renewal date.
What are PandaDoc usage credits?
- Usage credits pay for documents created through an integration or automated workflow, such as the API, Zapier, Make, web forms or bulk send. Starter and Business get trial credits, then a recurring credit pack. PandaDoc did not publish credit-pack prices in October 2026.
Does PandaDoc have an API and an MCP connector?
- Yes. The API is available on usage credits, and PandaDoc lists AI assistants via MCP (ChatGPT and Claude) as a beta on its plans, free "for a limited time", with the right to add usage limits, per its pricing page in October 2026.
Is PandaDoc better than DocuSign?
- PandaDoc is better for building and tracking sales documents; DocuSign is better for enterprise admin, integrations and regulated-industry options. The full comparison, with a year of costs, is in DocuSign vs PandaDoc.
E-signature rules vary by country, state and document type, so check with a legal professional that an e-signature suits your specific agreement before you rely on it.
