DottedSign Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
DottedSign review 2026: Pro at $96 a year for one user, Business at $200 a year for 100 tasks with a hard stop at the cap, and what its users complain about.
DottedSign is the e-signature app from KDAN (Kdan Mobile Software Ltd.). In October 2026 its pricing page shows four plans: Free, Pro at $96 a year or $15 billed monthly, Business at $200 a year for 100 signature tasks, and Enterprise on request.
Pro is cheap and unlimited, but it is for a single user with one template. Anything a team needs moves you to Business, which is billed per task and stops you sending when the tasks run out.
My DottedSign review in one line: Pro is a low flat price for one person who sends a lot, but the app has a long record of crash and save complaints, and Business moved to per-task billing in April 2025.

DottedSign review verdict: who it's for and who should skip it
DottedSign Pro is worth paying for when one person sends many documents a month and wants a flat yearly price: $96 a year covers unlimited documents. It is a weaker buy for a team, because unlimited users, templates, bulk send and the API all sit on Business, which is billed per task with a hard stop at the cap.
Best for: one sender doing 20 or more documents a month on an annual plan; people who sign mostly on a phone or tablet; teams that want front desk signing, public forms or self-hosting on Enterprise.
Skip if: you send only a few documents a month, you want to stop paying in a quiet month without losing the annual price, you need more than one user or template without moving to per-task billing, or you can't risk a crash halfway through a long document.
Here is how users rate DottedSign on review sites, checked October 2026.

Sources: G2, Capterra, Software Advice, the App Store listing and the Google Play listing. DottedSign's own G2 listing says "Review DottedSign to get US$20 now", and G2 marks many of its reviews as incentivized. TrustRadius would not load on the day I checked.
What users say about DottedSign, 2019 to 2025
English user reviews of DottedSign are thin. Capterra has five, all written in January 2020. The App Store shows seven written reviews, the newest from March 2024. Google Play has the most, mostly from 2020 to 2022. On Reddit I found no DottedSign review I could quote.
I found no English review from 2026 that I could read, and the most recent written reviews are in Japanese, which this page does not quote. So the quotes below come from every English source I could read, from 2019 to 2025, grouped by theme, with the complaints in full and a few positives. Each is copied as written, dated and linked. Older reviews describe older versions of the app, so read the date on each card.
Pricing and billing: the April 2025 Business change
The strongest pricing complaint comes from a G2 reviewer who manages 11 accounts and objects to the per-task Business pricing. The rest is smaller: a trial that asks for a card.
“I currently manage 11 DottedSign accounts and have completed over 5,000 signing tasks to date. The original annual fee was a manageable NT$59,400, but under the new pricing plan, I'm being charged over NT$200,000. Isn't that an excessive increase?”
A 1-star review. DottedSign replied to it on G2.
“If the new pricing is applied to us after that, we will immediately terminate our cooperation until a fixed annual fee plan is reinstated.”
The same reviewer, who wrote that the team would renew one more time on the original plan.
“if its a free trial you shouldnt need my payment info. it is not that difficult to programm an app that allows you to modify documents. Any price is an unjustified price”
“I found this app to make it easy to sign documents and have others sign without having to pay monthly! I absolutely love it, the ease of this app if by far the best I ever used...”
“...after weighing all my options this was the best one it's the most user friendly and the price is very reasonable.”
The G2 reviewer's figures are in New Taiwan dollars and describe a team of 11 accounts, not a single sender. DottedSign's help center says Pro subscriptions were not changed by the April 2025 move.
Support: slow fixes and blamed devices
Capterra's five reviewers rate customer service 4 or 5 out of 5, but none of them wrote about it. The written support complaints are about bugs that stayed open.
“I started using DottedSign in September 2024, but within just three months, the app began crashing severely. When I reported the issue to DottedSign's technical team, they claimed the problem was due to my device. However, I was using a brand-new iPad 9, and all 20 iPad 9s I used encountered the same crash issue...”
“It took nearly half a year for this issue to be resolved. I reported the crash in December 2024, but it wasn't fixed until May 2025.”
“...While talking to the support they said that the problem was caused because of some issue in the system which needs fixing with some big updates which may come next year. So I would recommend to try the app next year in the free trial mode before you commit to the subscription.”
“Already subscribed but unable to send documents. Already tried logging out and back in. Already filed a ticket REQUEST #20352 APP TICKET with screenshots. Please fix. Very crucial business needs.”
“...Bearing in mind I downloaded the app from the Google play store it's a bit ridiculous that although i can see the doc i can't actually open it to sign it! I go to help and can't get any...”
About signing a document saved in Google Docs.
I found no written English review that praises DottedSign's support, so there is no positive quote in this theme.
Ease of use: easy for most, tricky in places
Most positive reviews call DottedSign easy. The complaints are about finding your way around, losing unsaved work, and app updates that removed things people used.
“I don't really like that the documents you have already loaded to the website or the app can be easily closed without your permission if you haven't already saved it.”
“Figuring out the UX can be tricky sometimes, which means you have to spend some time navigating the app, but once you've got some skill and experience, using it stops being an issue at all, so it's not such a big deal after all.”
“...it was difficult for me to deal with Kdan Cloud - all the documents uploaded to it are arranged by date, so sometimes it is not possible to create separate folders for them.”
“The last update is awful 😖 When you finish signing yourself, it used to have 2 options the 1st one says save and share, and the 2nd one only saves. Now we have only save and if you need to share it which i usually need after signing you have to go to the completed tasks to choose the one you just finish...”
“In the last version, I was able to edit the stamp file to remove the background and adjust the colors. Now it just uploads the image. Very hard to create a realistic looking stamp now.”
A 3-star review.
“I would prefer if things were more easier to access.”
G2 marks this as a guest-user review, not counted in its score.
“To me it was difficult to utilize. Could never get the signed attached file that I needed. Had to uninstall. Installed a different e signature app that was a lot simpler.”
“It's been over 3 years that I've been using this app, and it's been delivering 100% till today! The simplicity of its UI is excellent...”
“Well, this platform definitely stands out amongst other e-signature apps because it's quite easy to use...”
“Love this app and it's very very user friendly. I never leave reviews so meet leaving one means a ton. It does the job and does it effectively and simply. Highly recommended!”
Signer experience: blank fields, frozen screens, files that won't open
The signer complaints are the most serious on the page: forms that arrived unsigned, files that would not open after signing, and long documents lost when the app froze or failed to save. Most are from 2020 and 2021.
“Absolutely terrible!! I'd rate it no stars if there was an option. I spent over an hour completing two forms only to find that when they have reached the recipient, they are in no way signed or filled. So deceitful that it shows on my device one way and to others is distorted, messy and completely redundant! Thanks.”
“...I was able to request for the signatures and once the signing process is done the file couldn't be opened in pdf. The other issues was that randomly the fillable spots disappeared...”
“Just NO- all good until wouldn't the sign document..i spent significant amount of time signing 40 page Doc for nothing!!! It simply won't save.”
“...It's very difficult signing on a telephone screen. So, whenever I'm halfway done, the app freezes. I've attempted several times, only to always have a frozen screen. Uninstalling!”
“...After I completed the document and send it back to the sender I cannot view the document. I had to uninstall the app in order for me to view the document...”
A 5-star review from a signer.
“It was tedious and even though it's saved when I would open up the document it's still at happy blue text boxes around all of the inserted information.”
“App is very helpful. Some room for improvement though; deleting signed document (own document) can be made easier. At present, deletion by individual file; can't be done in group. For those without the apps, apparently the reader may hv problem to open the file.”
“...It’s very friendly to use on mobile, way better than HelloSign, which doesn’t support sending documents for your clients to sign. Great work, thumbs up.”
“Great job. Me and my clients can sign documents with a few clicks and contact less...”
Features, reliability, the API and MCP
Crashes and failed saves are the complaints that come up most often, from 2020 on Capterra, the App Store and Google Play to 2024 on the App Store and 2025 on G2.
“The temporary solution offered by the technical team was to use the web version. While it worked fine until March 2025, the web version started crashing seriously again from April onwards. That meant between April and May, both the app and the web version were unusable, which severely impacted my work.”
“Was Good, Til it wasn't. Used it for about a year, but since the last update it always times out or it says "request cannot be executed" or something along those lines. As a small company that relies on e-signatures, any business owner can avoid headaches by not installing this application”
“Consistently crashes but yet don't auto save what I've already completed.”
A 2-star review titled "Crashes too much".
“The only thing that isn't great is this bug that occurs when I try to load a large file, and after taking a few moments, it crashes and I have to load the file again.”
“It does crash sometimes when I try to sign many pages but overall it’s a nice app to download and keep”
“I'm struggling to save my documents, I get a (1000) error & the amended documents don't save. Please assist.”
“The only CONS is the email is all in Chinese Language. Please fix”
A 4-star review.
“Easy to use, fast and simple. One think that I would add is the ability to send the document through an sms/text message from a computer. I know this option is available from a phone app, but to add it to the PC version of your software would be great.”
“1. Front Desk Signing: Allowing me to sign e-contracts with clients and reduces the hassle of filing paper contracts.”
What the same 1-star reviewer liked.
I found no user review about DottedSign's API or its MCP server on G2, Capterra, the app stores or Reddit, so there is no user verdict on them yet. Both are covered from DottedSign's own pages below.
What DottedSign is and its key features
DottedSign is an e-signature service from KDAN, which also makes PDF apps. You upload a PDF, place fields, add signers and send it as a signature task, on the web or in the iOS and Android apps. Signers don't need an account. DottedSign's pricing FAQ says a task can hold "one or more documents".
Here is what each plan includes, per DottedSign's pricing page, checked October 7, 2026:
| Feature | Free | Pro | Business | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | $0 | $96 a year or $15 monthly | $200 a year for 100 tasks | Custom |
| Sign documents yourself | Unlimited | Unlimited | Counts as a task | Counts as a task |
| Send for signature | 3 tasks a month | Unlimited documents | Your yearly task quota | Custom quota |
| Users | Single user | Single user | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Reusable templates | None | 1 | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Signer one-time password | Email and SMS | Email and SMS | Email and SMS | |
| Public form | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Bulk send, front desk signing, seal | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Custom branding, embedded signing, API | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Google Drive, OneDrive, Salesforce | No | No | Yes | Yes |
| Zapier, Microsoft Teams, Gmail add-on | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Self-hosted deployment, account manager | No | No | No | Yes |
Every plan includes the mobile apps and an Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) digital certificate on signed documents. The "counts as a task" rows come from DottedSign's Business pricing announcement, which lists "Completed Self-Signing tasks" as a billable task.
The Zapier, Microsoft Teams and Gmail row follows the comparison table; the Pro plan card lists Google Workspace, Zapier and Microsoft Teams integrations as Pro features.
What DottedSign does well
DottedSign's strengths are real, and most of them favor a single heavy sender.
- A flat, cheap Pro plan. $96 a year for unlimited documents is hard to beat if you send dozens of documents a month.
- A usable free plan. Free lets you sign unlimited documents yourself and send 3 a month.
- Mobile apps. iOS and Android apps are included on every plan, and many of the positive reviews above are about signing on a phone.
- Signer security on every plan. Email one-time passwords on Free, email and SMS on paid plans, and AATL certificates throughout.
- Several documents in one task. You pay once for the packet, not per file.
- Business features for teams. Front desk signing, public forms, bulk send and unlimited users and templates on Business, and self-hosting on Enterprise.
DottedSign pricing in 2026 (checked October 2026)
DottedSign's pricing page lists prices in US dollars. Here is what it showed on October 7, 2026.
| Plan | Price | What you get | How you pay |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Sign yourself without limit, send 3 a month | Nothing |
| Pro | $96 a year, or $15 billed monthly | Unlimited documents, single user, 1 template | Annual or monthly |
| Business | $200 a year, includes 100 tasks | Unlimited users and templates, API, bulk send | Annual only |
| Enterprise | Custom pricing | Everything in Business, self-hosting, account manager | Through sales |
Pro paid monthly comes to $180 a year, against $96 paid annually. The App Store sells the same plan in the app at $14.99 a month or $95.99 a year, and still lists legacy plans at $9.99 a month and $59.99 a year.
How Business is billed since April 2025. DottedSign's announcement on the Business plan says the plan moved from "per person" to "per task" pricing on April 21, 2025:
| Business tasks a year | Price a year | Per task |
|---|---|---|
| 100 | $200 | $2.00 |
| 200 | $340 | $1.70 |
| 300 | $510 | $1.70 |
| 500 | $850 | $1.70 |
| 600 or more | Enterprise, through sales | Not published |
The announcement states the $200 minimum, the $1.70 rate "for 200 to 500 tasks" and the 200-task example; the 300 and 500 rows are that rate multiplied out. Tasks come in multiples of 100.
A few rules from DottedSign's own pages, checked October 7, 2026:
- What counts as a task. Sent signature requests (including bulk send), completed self-signing, completed front desk signing, and public forms once all form signers finish. The pricing FAQ adds API requests. Drafts don't count.
- A failed task still counts. The plan FAQ says an overdue, failed or re-signed task does not change the count.
- The hard stop. The pricing FAQ says: "Once you have hit the limit before the plan renews, you will not be able to send invites until the next billing period starts."
- Add-on tasks. "In multiple of 10 tasks up to 100 tasks, with each task priced at USD 2." Add-ons expire with your plan and are not carried over.
- No rollover. "Any remaining tasks cannot be carried over to the next subscription period."
- Switching tiers mid-year. Upgrading starts a new one-year term, and "any remaining tasks from the original plan will be lost".
- Old Business plans. Per-person Business plans stop auto-renewing from April 21, 2026, and a team that has not switched drops to the Free plan, where pending documents can't be signed.
- Renewal and payment. Every plan renews automatically until you change or cancel it. You pay by card or PayPal. Pro and Business each offer a free trial.

Where DottedSign falls short
The weak points are the gap between Pro and Business, and the app's reliability record. Points 1 to 5 come from DottedSign's own pages, checked October 7, 2026; points 6 and 7 come from reviewers.
- Pro is one person with one template. The comparison table says "Single user" and "1 template". A second user means Business.
- Business stops you at the cap. Run out of tasks and you can't send until renewal unless you buy add-ons at $2 a task.
- Self-signing counts on Business. On Free and Pro you sign your own documents without limit; on Business a completed self-signing task uses your quota.
- No monthly Business plan. Business is billed annually, and unused tasks don't roll over.
- The API is Business only. Pro has no API access.
- Crashes and lost work. Reviewers describe crashes on large files and long documents from 2020 to 2025, including a G2 reviewer who could not use the app or the web version for about two months in 2025.
- Signed files that don't come through. Several Google Play reviewers, mostly in 2020 and 2021, say signed documents arrived blank or would not open.
What a year of DottedSign costs at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month
For one sender, a year of DottedSign costs $96 at 5, 10 or 25 documents a month on Pro paid annually, or $180 paid monthly. Free covers 3 a month, so it does not fit any of these volumes. Prices checked October 7, 2026 on DottedSign's pricing page, before tax:
| Volume, one sender | Cheapest DottedSign option | 1 year | 3 years | Per document |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 a month (60 a year) | Pro, annual | $96 | $288 | $1.60 |
| 10 a month (120 a year) | Pro, annual | $96 | $288 | $0.80 |
| 25 a month (300 a year) | Pro, annual | $96 | $288 | $0.32 |
The per-document cost falls the more you send, so Pro gets better value at high volume. If you need a second user or more than one template, the same volumes on Business would cost $200 a year for up to 100 tasks, $340 for 200 and $510 for 300.
Which DottedSign plan fits you
Match the plan to how many people send and how much, not to the headline price.
| You are | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One person sending 3 or fewer documents a month | Free | 3 sends a month, unlimited signing yourself |
| One person sending many documents a month | Pro, $96 a year | Unlimited documents at a flat price |
| A small team, or anyone who needs the API or bulk send | Business, from $200 a year | Users, templates, API and bulk send start here |
| An organization over 500 tasks a year, or self-hosting | Enterprise, through sales | 600 or more tasks and self-hosting are Enterprise |
| One person sending a few documents a month, unevenly | Probably not DottedSign | A year of Pro is paid upfront; see the last section |

The tree in words:
- Need more than one user, more than one template, the API or bulk send: buy Business, and size the task tier to your yearly volume.
- Send more than 3 documents a month on your own: buy Pro, annually if you can.
- Otherwise, the Free plan covers you.
Does DottedSign have an API or an MCP server?
The API. DottedSign's pricing page says the API is "Available in the Business Plan" and comes "Without extra cost". API requests use the same task quota as the app, and the developer site's pricing page repeats the hard stop at the cap. A sandbox has "a daily limit of 20 tasks for your API testing".
The MCP server. Yes. DottedSign runs an official MCP server for AI assistants, published in 2026 by its verified DottedSign-Official GitHub organization. Its README says it works with Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT, signs in through DottedSign with OAuth, and can list tasks, read a task, list templates, create a task from a template, set the signing order, send and void tasks. It can also sign documents for you if you have saved a signature.
The README is clear on plans: "The MCP connector itself is free", but "some features are limited in the Free and Pro plans (such as sending signing tasks)", and it recommends "upgrading to the DottedSign Business plan" to create and send tasks from an assistant (checked October 7, 2026).
Is DottedSign secure and compliant?
DottedSign's security and certifications page lists ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018, CSA STAR, GDPR and CCPA, and says DottedSign is "fully compliant with the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act" (HIPAA). It lists TLS/SSL, AES-256 and RSA-2048 encryption, single sign-on and AATL digital certificates. I did not find SOC 2 on that page (checked October 7, 2026).
How I reviewed DottedSign
I and my team have used DottedSign. For this review I also read DottedSign's own pages and what its users wrote from 2019 to 2025, and checked everything again on October 7, 2026:
- Vendor pages: the pricing page with its comparison table and FAQ, the help center announcement on Business pricing (updated December 9, 2025) and the Business and Enterprise plan FAQ, the API pricing page, the security and certifications page, and the MCP README.
- Review platforms: the lowest-rated G2 reviews, dated 2025; all 5 Capterra reviews, from January 2020, which Software Advice and GetApp show too; all 7 written App Store reviews, 2019 to 2024; and Google Play reviews from 2019 to 2025. Trustpilot has no DottedSign profile, Product Hunt has no reviews, and TrustRadius would not load.
- Forums: Reddit, where the DottedSign thread I found was posted in 2020 to introduce the app, with no user review I could quote. Hacker News had no DottedSign discussion.
- Not quoted: Japanese reviews on BOXIL and ITreview. This page quotes English reviews only, so the English record is thin and mostly old.
Who should skip DottedSign, and what to use instead
Keep DottedSign if:
- you are one person sending 20 or more documents a month and happy to pay $96 for a year upfront: at 25 a month, Pro is cheaper than SignWith's packs and its Lifetime Deal in the first year
- you need front desk signing, public forms, bulk send, team seats, Salesforce or self-hosting today
- your business needs a vendor that states HIPAA compliance; if you just need your business documents signed without paying extra for that, use SignWith
Skip DottedSign if you are one or two people who want a simple way to get a document signed, a few times a month and unevenly, without paying for a year upfront. That is who we built SignWith for.
SignWith has no seats and no subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. Every signed document uses one of your free monthly documents or a credit, including one that only you sign, and a declined, voided or expired document uses none.
- Upload a PDF, JPEG or PNG, add signature, date, text and checkbox fields, and set the signing order.
- Your recipients sign in the browser on any device, with no account.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
10 signed documents a month for a year, one sender
- SignWith, cheapest packs84 paid documents: 1 x Basic + 1 x Pro + 1 x Business$57
- SignWith Lifetime Dealone-time, unlimited credits$149
- DottedSign Pro, billed annually$96 per year$96
Here is the same year at all three volumes. DottedSign prices checked October 7, 2026; SignWith prices render from our pricing data, and the free monthly documents continue after you buy packs.
| Volume | DottedSign Pro, 1 year | SignWith, 1 year |
|---|---|---|
| 5 a month | $96 annual, $180 monthly | 3 free a month cover 36 documents; one Pro pack covers the other 24 for $19 |
| 10 a month | $96 annual, $180 monthly | 84 paid documents: one Business, one Pro and one Basic pack, $29 plus $19 plus $9 |
| 25 a month | $96 annual, $180 monthly | 264 paid documents: the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, cheaper than buying packs |
At today's prices SignWith saves $77 (80%) at 5 a month and $39 (41%) at 10, against Pro paid annually, in the first year. At 25 a month DottedSign Pro is cheaper in the first year, by $53 against the Lifetime Deal.
Over 3 years Pro comes to $288 at any volume, against the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, once.
DottedSign has its own MCP server, so AI access is not the difference. The difference is how you pay: DottedSign's API comes with Business only, its MCP README says sending signing tasks is limited on Free and Pro and recommends Business, and Business is billed per task with a hard stop at the cap. SignWith takes a different route:
- An API and an MCP server on every account. SignWith has a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, so your own code or your assistant can send documents for signature.
- The same credits as the app. No subscription, no developer plan, 3 free documents a month, then you buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed.
- The same fit. The API doesn't change who SignWith suits: one person sending 25 or more documents a month, every month, may still be better off on DottedSign Pro.
SignWith templates, bulk send, reminders, team accounts and integrations are coming soon, so if you need any of those today, DottedSign is the better buy. SignWith is used by 1,000+ businesses, and you can start free with no card.
No subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. One credit covers one signed document, however many people sign it.
- Unlimited credits
- Never expires
- One-time payment

Frequently asked questions
Does DottedSign have a free plan?
- Yes. The Free plan lets you sign unlimited documents yourself and send 3 documents a month for signature, with email one-time passwords for signers and the mobile apps (DottedSign pricing page, checked October 7, 2026).
How much does DottedSign Pro cost?
- Pro is $96 a year billed annually, or $15 billed monthly, which is $180 over a year. It covers unlimited documents for a single user with 1 template. In the App Store the same plan is $14.99 a month or $95.99 a year (checked October 7, 2026).
What is a DottedSign signature task?
- On Business and Enterprise, a task is a sent signature request (including bulk send), a completed self-signing or front desk signing, or a public form once all form signers finish. API requests count too. One task can hold several documents, drafts do not count, and a failed or re-signed task still counts.
What happens when I run out of Business tasks?
- You cannot send new signature requests until your plan renews, unless you buy add-on tasks at $2 each in blocks of 10, or move to a bigger tier. Tasks already sent can still be signed. Unused tasks do not roll over (DottedSign pricing FAQ and help center, checked October 7, 2026).
Does DottedSign have an API or an MCP server?
- Both. The API is included with Business and uses the same task quota. DottedSign also runs an official MCP server for Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT; its README says the connector is free but sending signing tasks is limited on Free and Pro, and it recommends Business (checked October 7, 2026).
What security certifications does DottedSign list?
- DottedSign's security page says it is fully compliant with HIPAA and lists ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018 certifications. I did not find SOC 2 on that page (checked October 7, 2026). Ask DottedSign for the paperwork your business needs before you rely on it.
Who makes DottedSign?
- DottedSign is made by KDAN, Kdan Mobile Software Ltd., which also makes PDF software. Its apps are on the App Store and Google Play under the name DottedSign - eSign & Fill Docs.
