OneSpan Sign Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
OneSpan Sign review: a bank-grade e-signature tool at $22 per user a month billed yearly, what Professional leaves out, 2026 user reviews, who should skip it.
OneSpan Sign is built for banks, insurers and government teams, and its price list says so. The self-serve Professional plan costs $22 per user a month, billed yearly, so one sender pays $264 a year whether they send 5 documents a month or 80 (OneSpan's US pricing page, checked October 2026).
My OneSpan Sign review in one line: strong security and a careful audit trail, sold on a yearly seat with no refunds, and the features regulated teams buy it for (API, bulk send, SSO, SMS and ID checks) sit on Enterprise or cost extra.

OneSpan Sign review verdict: who it's for and who should skip it
OneSpan Sign is worth paying for when proving who signed matters as much as getting the signature: a bank opening accounts, an insurer, a government office or an HR team on Workday. It is poor value for one person who needs a few contracts signed, because the cheapest plan is a yearly seat with no refunds.
Best for: regulated businesses that need signer identity checks (SMS codes, knowledge-based questions, government ID), remote notary, white labeling, the API or Salesforce and Workday integrations, all on Enterprise; small teams that want a digitally sealed document with the audit trail inside it, on Professional.
Skip if: you sign a handful of documents a month on your own, you want to pay month to month, or you want a refund if it does not work out.
Here is how users rate OneSpan Sign on review sites, checked October 2026.

| Capterra, overall | 4.7 / 5 | 70 reviews | October 2026 |

What users say about OneSpan Sign in 2026
The Capterra and SoftwareReviews ratings above are high, but mostly old. Capterra and Software Advice show the same 70 reviews, and only one is from 2026. SoftwareReviews says 98% of its reviewers plan to renew, but its newest written reviews predate this year. Trustpilot's 2.8 covers all of OneSpan, and 2 of its 3 reviews are about card readers.
OneSpan Sign ratings, and how old they are
Below, the 2026 reviews are grouped by theme and given in full. Every quote is from 2026, copied as written, and linked to where it was posted. I found five 2026 quotes from three reviewers, so where a theme has no 2026 review, I say so instead of filling it with older ones.
Pricing and billing: priced for larger firms
The one 2026 Capterra reviewer likes the product and still says the price fits bigger companies better than small teams.
“Interface can feel dated, setup is complex, and pricing may be high for small teams. Better for larger firms or companies.”
The cons of a 5-star review.
OneSpan's own terms back this up for a small buyer: the pricing FAQ says Professional renews every year until cancelled and "We do not offer refunds." Software Advice shows the same review and labels it as invited with a nominal incentive.
Customer support: help with setup
The one 2026 review I found that mentions OneSpan's team is on G2, and it is about getting set up.
“Setting it up was very easy as well; someone from the team booked a video call with us and explained everything clearly.”
What she likes, from a 5-star review.
Capterra's customer service score is 4.6 out of 5, across reviews from all years. On OneSpan's pricing table, Professional includes support by email; phone support is an Enterprise feature, and premium support and a dedicated representative are paid add-ons.
Ease of use: reliable, but setup takes work
The same reviewer gives the positive side. Her cons above also cover ease of use: she calls the interface dated and setup complex.
“Reliable e-signatures, strong security, and easy workflows make OneSpan smooth and efficient for me and my customers.”
The pros of the same review.
Signer experience: one ID check that would not open the camera
OneSpan's pricing FAQ confirms recipients need no account to sign. The one 2026 signer complaint I found is about an identity check on a phone. It sits on OneSpan's company-wide Trustpilot page and names "One Span software", not OneSpan Sign by name.
“Hard to believe in 2026 I had to spend an hour and 2 phones to verify my ID. Orientation screen lock off on both phones, yet the One Span software, wouldn't open up the camera on my phones (permissions also given). Glitchy as hell- we have similar software in the office we use, I have never had an issue. I am genuinely struggling to understand how this can be so bad...”
About verifying his ID on a phone; the review does not say which OneSpan product.
Features, and OneSpan Sign's API and MCP server
The one 2026 feature request I found is from the same G2 reviewer, and it is about signer authentication. I found no 2026 user review about its API.
“I don't dislike anything about it. That said, I'd appreciate more authentication options for situations where someone is traveling out of the country or doesn't have access to an email address or phone number.”
Her dislikes: none, plus a wish for more ways to verify signers.
OneSpan Sign has a REST API with .NET, Java and APEX SDKs, on Enterprise only. It has no MCP server: I found none on OneSpan's site, its developer community, its GitHub account or the public MCP registry (checked October 5, 2026).
What OneSpan Sign is and its key features
OneSpan Sign is the e-signature product of OneSpan, a security company that also sells authentication hardware and app security. You upload documents, place fields, send a transaction to your signers and track it. A transaction is OneSpan's billing unit: the pricing page says "One transaction can include any number of recipients and any number of documents."
Here is what each plan includes, per OneSpan's plan comparison on its US pricing page, checked October 2026. "Paid add-on" means the table marks it with a "$".
| Feature | Professional | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $22 per user a month, billed yearly | Volume-based, contact sales |
| Transactions | Up to 1,000 per user a year | Bought by number or band |
| Signing order, reminders, expiry, audit trail | Yes | Yes |
| Reusable templates, signer groups, conditional fields | Yes | Yes |
| Logo and colors on the signing screen | Yes | Yes |
| Google Drive, Box, Dropbox, OneDrive, Slack, SharePoint | Yes | Yes |
| In-person signing, 20 languages, WCAG 2.0 AA | Yes | Yes |
| Bulk send, embedded signing, analytics | No | Yes |
| White labeling, sender and audit trail branding | No | Yes |
| SSO login and SSO signer authentication | No | Yes |
| REST API, SDKs and developer sandbox | No | Yes |
| SMS, knowledge-based and government ID checks | No | Paid add-on |
| Biometrics, passkeys, video signing, notary | No | Paid add-on |
| Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot, Workday integrations | No | Paid add-on |
| Phone support | No | Yes |
Professional does include Q&A authentication, where the signer answers questions you set, and signing with government smart cards. A footnote on the pricing page adds: "Additional cost may apply for specific use cases."
What OneSpan Sign does well
OneSpan Sign's strengths are about proof and security, which is why banks and insurers use it.
- A seal after every signer. The Professional plan page says it protects the document by "applying a digital signature and tamper seal after each person has signed", detecting any change made between signers. Read digital signature vs electronic signature for why that matters.
- The audit trail lives in the document. "The audit trail is directly embedded in the document, resulting in a single file that's easier to verify and manage." More on what an audit trail is.
- Signer checks for high-stakes deals. Enterprise can add SMS codes, knowledge-based questions, government ID checks with selfie matching, passkeys and remote notary, which is what financial services teams need when they cannot see the signer.
- Recipients sign for free. The pricing FAQ says recipients need no OneSpan Sign account.
- Certifications, per its pages. The Professional plan page says OneSpan Sign "complies with ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 27017, ISO/IEC 27018, SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, FedRAMP" (checked October 2026).
OneSpan Sign pricing in 2026 (checked October 2026)
OneSpan's US pricing page shows two plans, before tax. The page headline is "Fair pricing. No hidden fees."
| Plan | Price | Billing | Transactions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Professional | $22 per user a month ($264 a year) | Yearly, renews each year | Up to 1,000 per user a year |
| Enterprise | Volume-based pricing | Contact sales | A set number or a band |
Two add-ons carry published starting prices, and both are listed under Enterprise: SMS notifications start at $0.40 per transaction, and identity verification starts at $2.50 per verification, "subject to a minimum commitment." The pricing FAQ adds that prices exclude tax and that OneSpan accepts major credit cards.
What I could not find on any OneSpan page:
- A monthly price. The Buy now button opens a yearly checkout, and no monthly option is shown.
- An overage price for going past 1,000 transactions a year. The same FAQ even says "There is no limit on the number of transactions you can send with the OneSpan Sign Professional Plan", which contradicts the 1,000 cap on the plan card. Ask OneSpan in writing.
- A price outside the US. From a European connection, the same pricing address redirects to a page that shows only Enterprise "Volume-based pricing".

Where OneSpan Sign falls short
The weak points are in the terms and the plan split. Each one below comes from OneSpan's own pages, checked October 2026.
- No refunds. The pricing FAQ: "After you cancel, you will continue to have full access to OneSpan Sign for the rest of your billing period. We do not offer refunds."
- Yearly only, and it renews. "Your subscription will be automatically renewed every year until cancelled." OneSpan says it emails a reminder before the renewal date.
- Short storage. The pricing FAQ says "Your Onespan Sign transactions will be stored up to 120 days from the date of creation." Download every signed file and keep your own copy.
- The features regulated teams want cost more. API, bulk send, embedded signing and SSO need Enterprise; SMS, knowledge-based and ID checks, notary and CRM or Workday integrations are paid add-ons on top.
- The cap and the FAQ disagree. The plan card says up to 1,000 transactions per user a year; the FAQ says there is no limit. No overage price is published.
What a year of OneSpan Sign costs at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month
At real small-business volumes, one sender pays $264 a year for OneSpan Sign, whatever the volume. The table uses the Professional plan, which covers all three volumes under its 1,000-transaction cap, on prices checked October 2026 on OneSpan's US pricing page, before tax.
| Volume, one sender | OneSpan plan that fits | 1 year | 3 years | Per document |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 a month (60 a year) | Professional | $264 | $792 | $4.40 |
| 10 a month (120 a year) | Professional | $264 | $792 | $2.20 |
| 25 a month (300 a year) | Professional | $264 | $792 | $0.88 |
One transaction can hold several documents for the same signers, so the per-document cost can be lower if you bundle. A monthly-billed price is not published, so it is not in the table.
Which OneSpan Sign plan fits you
Match the plan to what you must prove about your signers, not to the headline price.
| You are | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A small team sending up to about 80 transactions a month each | Professional, $264 per user a year | Templates, branding, reminders and the embedded audit trail |
| A team that needs bulk send, embedded signing, SSO or white labeling | Enterprise, through sales | Those features are Enterprise only |
| A developer building signing into an app | Enterprise, through sales | The REST API, SDKs and sandbox are Enterprise only |
| A bank, insurer or lender that must verify unknown signers | Enterprise plus add-ons | SMS, knowledge-based and government ID checks are paid add-ons |
| An HR team on Workday or a sales team on Salesforce | Enterprise plus add-ons | CRM and HRIS integrations are paid add-ons |
| One person signing a few documents a month | Probably not OneSpan Sign | A yearly seat with no refunds; see the last section |

The tree in words:

- Need its certifications or a digital seal after each signer, without those features: Professional.
- Otherwise, if you sign a few documents a month, you probably do not need OneSpan Sign.
How I reviewed OneSpan Sign
I and my team have used OneSpan Sign. For this review I also read OneSpan Sign's own pages and what its users wrote in 2026, and checked everything again on October 5, 2026:
- Vendor pages: the US pricing page with its plan comparison, add-ons and FAQ, the Professional plan page and the free trial page.
- Review platforms: G2, Capterra, Software Advice, SoftwareReviews and Trustpilot. Gartner Peer Insights blocked access on the day, and none of its reviews are quoted.
- Forums: a Reddit thread about OneSpan on Workday ranks for this topic but could not be opened, so nothing from it is quoted.
- Developer side: OneSpan's site search, its developer community, its GitHub account and the public MCP registry, for an MCP server.
Who should skip OneSpan Sign, and what to use instead
Keep OneSpan Sign if you are a bank, insurer, lender or government team that must verify unknown signers, or if you need its API, Workday or Salesforce today. If your business needs HIPAA, SOC 2 or FedRAMP, OneSpan Sign is built for that; if you just need your business documents signed without paying extra for that, use SignWith.
Skip OneSpan Sign if you are one or two people who want a simple way to get a document signed, a few times a month and unevenly, with no subscription and no yearly commitment. That is who we built SignWith for.
SignWith has no seats and no subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. Every signed document uses one of your free monthly documents or a credit, including one that only you sign, and a declined, voided or expired document uses none.
- Upload a PDF, JPEG or PNG, add signature, date, text and checkbox fields, and set the signing order.
- Your recipients sign in the browser on any device, with no account.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.

- SignWith Lifetime Dealone-time, unlimited credits$149
- OneSpan Sign Professional, billed yearly$264 per year$264
Here is the same year, side by side, at all three volumes. OneSpan Sign prices checked October 2026; SignWith prices render from our pricing data, and the free monthly documents continue after you buy packs.
| Volume | OneSpan Sign Professional, 1 year | SignWith, 1 year |
|---|---|---|
| 5 a month | $264 | 3 free a month cover 36 documents; one Pro pack covers the other 24 for $19 |
| 10 a month | $264 | 84 paid documents: one Business, one Pro and one Basic pack, $29 plus $19 plus $9 |
| 25 a month | $264 | 264 paid documents: the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, cheaper than buying packs |
At today's prices that saves $245 (93%) at 5 a month, $207 (78%) at 10 and $115 (44%) at 25, in the first year. Over 3 years, OneSpan Sign Professional comes to $792 at any of these volumes, against the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time.
OneSpan Sign's API is Enterprise only, through sales, and OneSpan Sign has no MCP server (checked October 5, 2026). SignWith takes a different route:
- An API and an MCP server on every account. SignWith has a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, so your own code or your assistant can send documents for signature.
- The same credits as the app. No subscription, no developer plan, 3 free documents a month, then you buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed.
- The same fit. The API doesn't change who SignWith suits: a team that must verify unknown signers or needs FedRAMP should still pick OneSpan Sign.
SignWith has no ID verification or notary, and SignWith templates, bulk send, reminders, team accounts and integrations are coming soon, so if you need any of those today, OneSpan Sign is the better buy. SignWith is used by 1,000+ businesses, and you can start free with no card.
No subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. One credit covers one signed document, however many people sign it.
- Unlimited credits
- Never expires
- One-time payment
