Jotform Sign Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
Jotform Sign review: 10 free signed documents a month, then $34 to $99 a month billed annually for one user. 2026 user reviews, yearly costs, who should skip.
Jotform Sign gives you 10 signed documents a month for free, which is more than most e-signature tools give anyone. The catch shows up later: every plan below Enterprise is for one user, and many of Jotform's one-star reviews in 2026 are about renewals and refunds, not about signing.
My Jotform Sign review in one line: it is an easy, form-first signing tool that is excellent value if you stay on the free plan or need forms, payments and signatures in one flow, and a subscription you have to watch if you don't.

Jotform Sign review verdict: who it's for and who should skip it
Jotform Sign is worth it when your signature sits at the end of a form: intake, waivers, consent, registration, a payment. It is the weaker buy when you only need to send finished documents now and then, or when two or more people need to send from one account.
Best for: people already on Jotform forms; small businesses collecting waivers or consent with a payment step; nonprofits and schools (50% off Bronze, Silver and Gold); anyone sending 10 or fewer documents a month who is fine with Jotform branding; businesses that need HIPAA-enabled features, which start on Gold.
Skip if: you need several senders on one account without buying Enterprise, you want to avoid an auto-renewing subscription, or you need fast human support when something breaks.

What users say about Jotform Sign in 2026
The scores are high almost everywhere, and the complaints are concentrated. On Trustpilot, 77% of Jotform's reviews are 5 stars and 11% are 1 star (checked October 2026). The 1-star reviews are mostly account owners writing about a charge, a renewal or a support ticket.
Jotform's ratings, side by side
“I recently started using Jotform as well to get my clients to virtually sign their contracts, and it has saved me a lot of time, energy and money!”
“Easy to use, easy to share and collect signature.”
“I needed this to be able to send to my clients to fill in the required info and sign it with a few clicks and that I can manage it all from an app with preferred sending methps (email or link), the notifications I receive and the reminders that can be setup for document signing.”
“Not ideal as wont save unfinished forms have to restart if you leave for a while”
“...Really frustrating and buggy to use. Avoid Jotform at all costs.”
“They renewed my annual subscription at triple the price I paid last year (over $700 Canadian) after giving me no warning whatsoever of the upcoming renewal or price change.”
Review snapshot checked Oct 2026.
Below, the reviews are grouped by theme, with the complaints in full and a few of the strongest positives. Every quote is from 2026, copied as written, and linked to where it was posted. Capterra's visible Jotform Sign reviews were dated before 2026 when I checked, so the quotes come from Trustpilot and the app stores.
Pricing and billing: the loudest complaint
Many of the one-star reviews are about money. The pattern is a discounted first year followed by a full-price renewal, then a fight over the refund.
“They renewed my annual subscription at triple the price I paid last year (over $700 Canadian) after giving me no warning whatsoever of the upcoming renewal or price change.”
Jotform replied that her earlier price was a one-time discount.
“My original price was $280. After one year they autorenewd at $480.”
“Terrible company, I cancelled last year and still got charged for the next years subscription. When asking for a refund with clear proof the page has not been used which they could simply check, they refused”
Jotform replied that the refund had been processed.
“Customers may make a good-faith effort to cancel service through one of several available communication channels, only to later learn that the company does not recognize that method as a valid cancellation request.”
Jotform replied that his refund had been processed.
“At checkout, the "Yearly" payment tab was selected and clearly displayed a "SAVE 60%" badge with a price of $19.60/month.”
About a Silver plan. She later updated the review to say the full fee was refunded.
“I got double charged for months for my Gold Membership. Both Jotform and Apple are refusing to take responsibility and issue a refund.”
Jotform replied that its billing team was looking into it.
“I built a form and they didn't warn me before I publish my design about the 100 monthly limit of submission of the form and now I have to face the embarrassment of running out of the quota. The price of increasing the limitation is 40 dollars a month.”
“Unfortunately the form is tough to customize, and even though I have the bronze plan, after doing 20 or so forms, it wants me to upgrade to the next highest plan.”
“Try the free version with 10 submits per sign up month not calendar month. If you need more than that go to Google forms.”
From a 5-star review.
“Been using Jotform for years for our non-profit. Super easy to use, fair subscription models, way better for us small businesses then docusign.”
“Google Forms are good for basics but what Jotform is offering for free users is quite comprehensive and very generous.”
“I recently started using Jotform as well to get my clients to virtually sign their contracts, and it has saved me a lot of time, energy and money!”
The renewal complaints match Jotform's own pricing FAQ: discounts apply "only when upgrading to a higher tier yearly plan", and "Plans will auto-renew at the full price in the next payment period." Jotform replies to most of these reviews on Trustpilot and, in several cases, says a refund was processed.
Support: AI first, slow on hard problems
Support is the second theme. Reviewers describe an AI assistant as the first layer, and fixes for real bugs that take weeks.
“Absolutely zero support from this company. Your inquires will go weeks without a response.”
“They have an AI agent that is not equipped to handle technical issues and will lie to you about a live agent coming. Then later after you have been waiting hours the AI will admit there was never a live agent coming.”
“Jotform has a 24/7 support desk that responds quickly and gives polite, desirable answers, but in our experience they do not actually solve the problem.”
In a July update, the reviewer says support provided a working solution after 6 weeks.
“Support confirmed it was an issue within the platform and took over 3 weeks of continually telling me they were looking into it, to still have no resolution.”
About downloading survey responses.
“Terrible in kiosk mode- constantly having to troubleshoot problems and you can NEVER speak to a live technician - even with paid subscription.”
“Their AI bot has been helpful to find answers to questions we have as a small business.”
“When I needed assistance on created a conditional drop-down response option, I was able to find a tutorial from the Jotform team that provided screenshots of the step-by-step instructions (which made it exceptionally easy to follow!).”
Jotform's replies on Trustpilot describe the same setup: an AI assistant answers first, and you can ask for a human agent. Its reply to one reviewer says it does all of its support through its Help Center.
Ease of use: easy to start, harder to bend
Most praise is about how quickly you can build a form and collect a signature. The complaints come from people trying to do something more complex, and from app users who could not get the app to work or could not log in.
“Shockingly bad UI, UX, logic, layers of old features piled. Shame.”
“Trying to get actual help Is a nightmare - I have now spent 4 days of my time trying to make this work - after reading guides & taking instruction - apparently what I am trying to do is simple - but it is not..”
About pre-filling one form from another.
“Not ideal as wont save unfinished forms have to restart if you leave for a while”
Jotform replied that changes save automatically.
“Tried, tried and tried again and again but could not for the life of me get this app to work.”
“Why is there no login button? I have a gmail account connected, and when I do try to login, I get the error message that an account under the email already exists...”
“It wouldn't let me sign in”
“Almost impossible to add another element at times the way the app/toolbar is set up. It also stopped loading the documents so I can't do anything to them. tried deleting the app and reinstalling/software update. nothing worked, had to delete the app.”
“Easy to use, easy to share and collect signature.”
“You definitely don't need to be an IT expert to get started.”
“This Form seem very easy to use. Jotform sign. satisfied”
Signer experience: where Jotform Sign earns its score
The people signing have the best time with Jotform Sign, and that is where most Sign-specific praise sits: waivers, class packets and client forms signed without paper. The negatives are about reliability and notifications.
“We are currently experiencing a 7% failure rate on all submissions due to a technical issue on Jotform's system.”
Jotform later replied that the issue was resolved.
“The only thing I would change is that I won't receive an email telling me a form has been signed, cause that's quite obvious when you receive one. So with that you get kind of spammed.”
From a 5-star review. Jotform replied with the notification settings.
“Jotform has been incredibly helpful for our Airbnb - we needed a solution to be able to electronically send and collect waiver signatures from our guests. Jotform has worked perfectly for this and we look forward to continuing to use the service!”
“Before discovering this platform, we were printing 50 to 75 sheets of paper every single day so participants could sign our education classes' packets.”
“I needed this to be able to send to my clients to fill in the required info and sign it with a few clicks and that I can manage it all from an app with preferred sending methps (email or link), the notifications I receive and the reminders that can be setup for document signing.”
“Worked easily and made it simple to sign any paperwork.”
Features, Jotform's AI, and its own MCP server
Feature complaints center on bugs and on Podo, the AI assistant Jotform builds into its forms. One reviewer likes Podo because it acts for you.
“Also, Their AI is poor, and it is positioned so that you cannot remove it. While I am using the form on mobile, I cannot check boxes or move forward in the form because of the position of the nonremovable AI, which they call PODO.”
Jotform replied with how to remove the chatbot in form settings.
“The conditions most often didn't work correctly. The AI would set them up incorrectly, even given a very specific request, it would set it up wrong.”
“The software is not usable. Forms disappear, the servers has loading errors (too many request - errors) literally all the time.”
Jotform replied that his IP address had hit stricter traffic limits, which it adjusted.
“They have been down 3 times in the last 2 weeks but now the status only shows an outage once.”
Jotform replied that its status page lists only system-wide incidents.
“Things that work fine with some forms simply don't work with other. Really frustrating and buggy to use.”
“not able to use to fill out a simple PDF state agency form that only required 2 signatures , one text box with five words. two Dates.”
“The little Podo chat is great - tell them what you want done, and they do it for you. Couldnt be easier.”
Jotform has its own MCP server for AI assistants. Its MCP page says it works with ChatGPT, Claude Desktop, Manus and Cursor and is "completely free to use", with no charge beyond your Jotform subscription.
On September 29, 2026, Jotform also launched Jotform Sign for ChatGPT and Claude, which turns a prompt or a PDF or DOCX file into a document ready to sign and sends it from the chat. I found no 2026 user reviews of either yet: both are too new.
What Jotform Sign is and its key features
Jotform Sign is the e-signature product inside Jotform, the online form builder. You upload a PDF or build a document, place fields, and share it by email invitation, a public or private link, or an embed on your website. Because it sits inside Jotform, a signature can follow an intake form or a payment in one flow.
Here is what Jotform's Sign features page listed, checked October 2026:
| Feature area | What Jotform Sign includes |
|---|---|
| Building documents | Drag-and-drop builder, auto field detection, 1,000+ Sign templates |
| Sending | Email invitations, public or private links, website embed |
| Keeping it moving | Reminders, signer delegation, approval flows |
| Records | Audit trails and signed documents stored in your Jotform account |
| Working elsewhere | iOS and Android apps, integrations with storage and CRM tools, MCP server |
| Security | SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA and SSL listed on the features page; HIPAA-enabled features only on Gold and Enterprise |
The Jotform Sign app holds 4.9 out of 5 from 382 ratings on the App Store (checked October 2026).
What Jotform Sign does well
Jotform Sign's strengths are real, and for the right buyer they outweigh the subscription.
- A generous free plan. 10 signed documents a month for $0, more than most e-signature tools give a free user.
- Form, payment and signature in one place. If your process starts with a form, nothing else needs to be connected.
- Signers find it easy. The best Sign-specific reviews are about waivers and client forms signed without paper.
- Templates and reminders today. 1,000+ Sign templates, reminders, signer delegation and approval flows are listed on the features page.
- A discount for nonprofits and schools. Jotform offers nonprofits 50% off Bronze, Silver and Gold and 30% off Enterprise, per its pricing page (checked October 2026).
- AI access of its own. The MCP server and the Sign apps for ChatGPT and Claude let an assistant prepare and send documents from your Jotform account.
Compliance is tiered. The features page lists SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR and CCPA, while the pricing page shows HIPAA-enabled features as unavailable on Starter, Bronze and Silver and available on Gold ($99 a month billed annually) and Enterprise (checked October 2026).
Jotform Sign pricing in 2026 (checked October 2026)
Jotform Sign's pricing page shows five plans. Every plan below Enterprise is labelled "1 User, Individual Plan". Here is what it listed on October 5, 2026, before tax:
| Plan | Billed annually | Billed monthly | Signed documents a month | Forms | Submissions a month | Users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Free | Free | 10 | 5 | 100 | 1 |
| Bronze | $34 a month ($408 a year) | $39 a month | 100 | 25 | 1,000 | 1 |
| Silver | $39 a month ($468 a year) | $49 a month | 250 | 50 | 2,500 | 1 |
| Gold | $99 a month ($1,188 a year) | $129 a month | 1,000 | 100 | 10,000 | 1 |
| Enterprise | Custom price | Custom price | Unlimited | Unlimited | Unlimited | Multiuser |
The Sign pricing page shows the annual prices by default, next to a "Monthly / Yearly" switch that says "Save up to 20%". The monthly prices in the table come from the plan data on Jotform's main pricing page, checked October 2026. A few more rules from the pricing FAQ:
- No trial on paid plans. "While there is no trial period for Jotform plans, you can try all of Jotform's standard features with the Starter (free) plan."
- Automatic renewal. "Your subscription will automatically be renewed each month for monthly plans and each year for yearly plans unless you cancel."
- Promotions renew at full price. Discounts "are available only when upgrading to a higher tier yearly plan", and "Plans will auto-renew at the full price in the next payment period."
- A 30-day refund. "If, for any reason, you need to cancel your subscription within 30 days of payment, we'll issue a full refund."
- Tax and currency. Tax is added to the final price unless you enter a valid Tax ID, and you are charged in US dollars, or in euros if you are in Europe.

What the free plan really includes
Starter is a real free plan, not a trial, and for a light sender it may be all you need. The fine print matters, though, and it sits in the pricing FAQ and the account limits guide (checked October 2026):
- 10 signed documents a month. Jotform defines the limit as "The total number of signing processes completed, from all your Sign documents, your account can have every month." A document counts when its signing is completed.
- Jotform branding. "Your forms and signed documents will include Jotform branding, which can be removed once you have a paid subscription."
- 5 forms and 100 submissions a month. Plain form submissions and signed documents are separate limits.
- 500 stored submissions in total. The limits guide says "Exceeding this limit deletes the oldest form entry to make room for the new submission."
- 100 MB of uploads, 1 user, and no HIPAA-enabled features.
The monthly limits reset on the first day of your own monthly usage cycle, not the calendar month, which is what one reviewer above means by "per sign up month". When you hit a limit, Jotform emails you and disables the form with a "Form over quota" message.
Where Jotform Sign falls short
The weak points are in the subscription around the product. Each one below comes from Jotform's own pages, checked October 2026, or from the reviews above.
- One user below Enterprise. Bronze, Silver and Gold are each "1 User, Individual Plan". The pricing FAQ calls Enterprise "the only multiuser Jotform plan".
- Promotions renew at full price. A discounted first year renews at the full price, which is what the triple-price and $280-to-$480 reviews describe.
- Plans renew automatically. Monthly plans renew each month and yearly plans each year unless you cancel.
- No paid trial. You test on Starter, which has branding and lower limits than the plan you would buy.
- Hitting a limit stops the form. At quota, forms show "Form over quota" until the cycle resets or you upgrade, and a full submission store deletes your oldest entry.
- Support starts with AI. Several 2026 reviewers describe waiting weeks for fixes, and Jotform says you can ask for a human agent.
What a year of Jotform Sign costs at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month
At 10 or fewer documents a month, Jotform Sign costs nothing if you accept the branding. Above that, one sender pays $408 a year on Bronze billed annually, or $468 billed monthly. Prices checked October 2026 on Jotform's Sign pricing page and pricing plan data, before tax.
| Volume, one sender | Cheapest Jotform plan that fits | 1 year | 3 years | Per signed document |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 a month (60 a year) | Starter, free, with branding | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| 10 a month (120 a year) | Starter, free, with branding, exactly at the cap | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| 25 a month (300 a year) | Bronze | $408, or $468 billed monthly | $1,224, or $1,404 | $1.36 on annual |
If you don't want Jotform's branding on your forms and signed documents, you need Bronze at every volume: $408 a year billed annually. At its full 100 signed documents a month, Bronze works out to $0.34 per signed document ($408 for 1,200), which is good value for a steady, busy sender.
Which Jotform Sign plan fits you
Pick the plan by how many people send and what you need on day one, then check the monthly cap.
| You are | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One person sending up to 10 documents a month, branding is fine | Starter, free | 10 signed documents a month at no cost |
| One person who needs Jotform branding removed, or more forms | Bronze, $408 a year | 100 signed documents a month, 25 forms |
| One busy sender with heavier form traffic | Silver, $468 a year | 250 signed documents and 2,500 submissions a month |
| A business that needs HIPAA-enabled features | Gold, $1,188 a year | HIPAA-enabled features start here |
| A team with several senders, or that needs SSO | Enterprise, through sales | The only multiuser plan |
| A nonprofit or school | Bronze, Silver or Gold at 50% off | Jotform's nonprofit and education discount |
Prices checked October 2026 on Jotform's Sign pricing page, billed annually.

How I reviewed Jotform Sign
I and my team have used Jotform Sign. For this review I also read Jotform's own pages and what its users wrote in 2026, and checked everything again on October 5, 2026:
- Vendor pages: the Sign pricing page and its FAQ, the plan data on Jotform's main pricing page, the account usage and limits guide, the Sign features page, the MCP server page and the September 29, 2026 announcement of Jotform Sign for ChatGPT and Claude.
- Review platforms: Trustpilot reviews dated January to September 2026, the App Store and Google Play listings for the Jotform Sign app, and the Capterra and G2 rating pages. Capterra's visible Jotform Sign reviews were dated before 2026, so none are quoted.
- Forums: the Reddit threads that rank for this topic could not be read on the day, so none are quoted.
- The cost math: done at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month from the prices above.
Who should skip Jotform Sign, and what to use instead
Keep Jotform Sign if:
- your process starts with a form or takes a payment in the same flow;
- you need templates and reminders today;
- you are a nonprofit or school using the 50% discount.
If your business needs HIPAA, go with Jotform Gold or Enterprise; if you just need your business documents signed without paying extra for that, use SignWith.
For a head-to-head with the market leader, see Jotform Sign vs DocuSign.
Skip Jotform Sign if you don't want a subscription, if your volume swings from month to month, or if you'd rather not track a renewal date. That is who we built SignWith for.
SignWith has no seats and no subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. Every signed document uses one of your free monthly documents or a credit, including one that only you sign, and a declined, voided or expired document uses none.
- Upload a PDF, JPEG or PNG, add signature, date, text and checkbox fields, and set the signing order.
- Your recipients sign in the browser on any device, with no account.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
25 signed documents a month for a year, one sender

- SignWith Lifetime Dealone-time, unlimited credits$149
- Jotform Sign Bronze, billed annually$408 per year$408
- Jotform Sign, billed monthly Bronze$39 per month$468
Here is the same year, side by side, at all three volumes. Jotform prices checked October 2026; SignWith prices render from our pricing data, and the free monthly documents continue after you buy packs.
| Volume | Jotform Sign, 1 year | SignWith, 1 year |
|---|---|---|
| 5 a month | $0 on Starter with branding; $408 on Bronze | 3 free a month cover 36 documents; one Pro pack covers the other 24 for $19 |
| 10 a month | $0 on Starter with branding; $408 on Bronze | 84 paid documents: one Business, one Pro and one Basic pack, $29 plus $19 plus $9 |
| 25 a month | $408 on Bronze ($468 billed monthly) | 264 paid documents: the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, cheaper than buying packs |
Against Bronze billed annually, that saves $389 (95%) at 5 a month, $351 (86%) at 10 and $259 (63%) at 25, in the first year. Against Jotform's free plan at 5 or 10 a month, Jotform is cheaper, as long as you accept its branding and stay at 10 or fewer.
Jotform has its own MCP server and Sign apps for ChatGPT and Claude, and they run on your Jotform plan and its monthly caps. SignWith takes the same pay-per-document route for developers and AI assistants:
- An API and an MCP server on every account. SignWith has a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, so your own code or your assistant can send documents for signature.
- The same credits as the app. No subscription, no developer plan, 3 free documents a month, then you buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed.
- The same fit. The API doesn't change who SignWith suits: a team that needs a shared workspace or HIPAA should still pick Jotform Enterprise or Gold.
SignWith templates, reminders, team accounts, bulk send and integrations are coming soon, so if you need any of those today, Jotform Sign is the better buy. SignWith is used by 1,000+ businesses, and you can start free with no card.
No subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. One credit covers one signed document, however many people sign it.
- Unlimited credits
- Never expires
- One-time payment
