Blueink Review 2026: Pricing, Features & Honest Verdict
A Blueink eSignature review: $15 a user a month for 10 envelopes, no refunds under its terms, API and MCP on separate plans, and what users say, good and bad.
Blueink sells itself as the cheaper DocuSign: its pricing page promises "50% savings with no compromises" and labels each plan against DocuSign's. In October 2026 Standard costs $15 a user a month on an annual plan, or $22.50 billed monthly, for 10 envelopes a user a month.
My Blueink eSignature review in one line: a simple, well-liked signing tool that is good value for a team of steady senders, with HIPAA, bulk send and the API kept for Enterprise or separate API plans, and a contract with no refunds.

Blueink review verdict: who it's for and who should skip it
Blueink is worth paying for when a small team sends a steady stream of contracts, forms or consent documents, and wants templates, payment collection, SMS delivery and ID checks for less than DocuSign charges.
It is poor value when one person signs a handful of documents a month, unevenly, because every plan is a per-user subscription, the terms give no refunds, and the features a growing team asks for next (bulk send, API, HIPAA) sit on Enterprise.
Best for: schools, clinics, staffing and real estate teams that send every week; teams switching from DocuSign mainly on price; senders whose clients sign by text message.
Skip if: you sign fewer than about 5 documents a month, your volume swings, you want a refund when you stop using it, or you want API or MCP access on a self-serve plan.
Here is how users rate Blueink on review sites, checked October 7, 2026.

What users say about Blueink, 2022 to 2026
The ratings are high, and you should read them with the labels on. Many of the Capterra and Software Advice reviews I read carry the label that the reviewer "was invited by the software vendor to submit an honest review and offered a nominal incentive as a thank you." Both G2 reviews quoted below are marked incentivized too.
Software Advice's breakdown shows 163 five-star reviews, 21 four-star, 2 three-star and one 1-star review, out of 187. That one 1-star review is from Liby H. on Capterra.
Below, the complaints are grouped by theme and given in full, with a few positives. Quotes run from 2022 to 2026, are copied as written, and link to where they were posted.
Pricing and billing: cheaper than DocuSign, no refunds
The praise for Blueink's price is real: reviewers who compared it with DocuSign and other tools say it costs less. The complaints are about a refund that was refused, the lack of a free plan, and template help that started to cost money.
“Requested refund for unused service the day my billing debit posted to account. They denied me this request and said I must notify them 30 days in advance. Obviously they do not put the customer first and just want your money”
A 3-star review titled "Won't Issue Refunds Before 30-Day Cancellation", submitted organically.
“BlueInk is expensive to use, no an entirely free version, only a free trial...”
“I joined Blue Ink when it was first starting and creating templates was free by customer service. Recently i called for help building a new template and was told it would be a $150 cost. i was able to figure out creating the template myself but it took some time.”
“I don't remember the other two companies we considered; however the determining factor was the unlimited number of documents we could send. With the 25 - 100 documents we send a month, the other choices were not cost effective.”
Her reason for choosing Blueink.
“Blueink had all the features of the other products but at a much reduced cost”
Her reason for choosing Blueink over DocuSign and Adobe Acrobat.
Matthew's refund story matches Blueink's own terms, covered in the contract section below.
Support: praised by most, slow for one director
Many of Blueink's reviews praise its support, and Capterra rates customer service 4.8. The one sharp exception is the only 1-star review, from a director in insurance who left DocuSign for Blueink.
“After sale CS and onboarding is terrible. They take forever to get back to you with fixes and when they notify that the issue is resolved - it's not. The fix is worse than the original issue. Example: Selfie now does not allow for a selfie but must upload a document. UGH!!”
A 1-star, non-incentivized review titled "DO NOT USE BLUEINK".
“though this had more capabilities but we are now seeking a new vendor as BlueInk is TERRIBLE AND WE HATE IT!”
The same reviewer, on switching from DocuSign.
“Bluelink is very user friendly and customer support team is very helpful. They always get back with you in a timely manner.”
"Bluelink" is the reviewer's spelling.
“Easy template setup, support is phenomenal, and the app keeps improving! Reasonably priced plans as well.”
Blueink's pricing page lists email and chat support on every plan, and onboarding, training and a "Template Concierge" on Enterprise only in its compare table (checked October 7, 2026).
Ease of use: simple to send, harder to organize
Reviewers find sending simple. The complaints are about placing fields, finding and sorting documents after they are sent, cleaning up contacts, and the lack of Word files.
“Nothing yet. The upload of a document to turn in to a pdf is straight forward enough but the tab feature does not work correctly. It's all over the place and causes confusion.”
Written in the review's "Pros" field.
“I do not like that it does not take word documents. I do not like the filtering; I would prefer for it to also filter by name and not only by status. Also, I would prefer that all the documents would be displayed at the same time and not have to click on pages, such as to go to the 2nd or 3rd page.”
“Document management is done by date and not document name. Also, the "add field" list does not stay put when you scroll the document. So when you scroll down the document to find the correct location for the signature block, you have to then scroll back up, click correct field box, scroll back down to correct location, click again to set the box...”
A 4-star review; he also wrote "worth the price, would buy it again".
“I haven't been able to erase some of the contacts created that were incorrect, have changed or are duplicates.”
“...not being able to edit a bundle after it's been sent without copying the bundle and resending then having to delete the old one.”
“I wish that there was a search feature on the dashboard to find documents by recipients or signers.”
“One thing that I dislike is that it can be slow at times.”
“There was a little learning curve about how to set up signers first, then modify documents, then send. But Once it's done, it'd done!”
“Ease of use and functionality. I find that sending documents and making templates is very intuitive...”
Submitted organically.
“I have been using BlueInk for some time now to collect e-signatures from my clients & it is very helpful!”
Signer experience: text messages help, notifications lag
Reviewers like that clients can sign from a text message. The complaints are about what the sender doesn't see: unopened requests, bounced texts, emails that land in spam or get stuck behind firewalls, and no quick way to nudge a signer.
“Sometimes, it takes ages to get emails sent from BlueInk and when they come, they get into the spam folder.”
“The communication to signers needs to inform the sender if the recipient did not open the request. At times it is challenging to get the signature request through firewalls.”
“There should be a resend feature or the ability to send a message to the individual that you are requesting a signature from. There could even be an instant reminder.”
“it should have a notification for when text message bounces back. Ex: non working mobile # or if we are using a land line number”
“I feel like the notifications can be upgraded to a higher level. 1. Opened or Not Opened 2. Read 3. WIP 4. Signed/complete”
A 4-star review, submitted organically.
“The feature I like the most is the ability to send it to a cell phone and client's that are on the go or can't get the email to come through receive and sign instantly.”
Blueink's pricing page lists reminders from Business Pro up, not on Standard (checked October 7, 2026), which may explain some of the reminder requests.
Features, ID checks, and Blueink's own API and MCP server
The feature complaints are about ID and selfie checks, a missing mobile app, and fields that don't do what the reviewer needed. The one user comment I found on the API is positive.
“No ID verification; it doesn't actually work. The user can use a photo of anything. Also no app support is a major disadvantage.”
The same reviewer as the refund complaint above.
“Doesn't work as presented and when developers get involve to "fix" an issue - it's worse! So done waiting for them to fix the tab feature, the selfie feature and the pdf link feature.”
“Doesn't have the option to add multiple signatures”
A 2.5-star review.
“I've had a couple insurance companies that only allow a certain few approved companies for their e-sign services...”
His only complaint, in a 5-star review.
“Blueink is easy to integrate with an easy-to-use API...”
“Completely satisfied with my experience with Blueink, it is reliable, accurate and secure. It does just what I need to keep my contracts organized and available.”
I found no user review of Blueink's MCP server, which launched on September 4, 2026, so there is no user verdict on it yet. On the vendor side, API access is listed on Enterprise only, and API plans are sold separately; both are covered below.
What Blueink is and its key features
Blueink is a US e-signature tool, founded in 2014 and based in Scottsdale, Arizona, per its compliance page. You upload a document, place fields, and send it by email or text message; signers sign in the browser.
Here is what each self-serve plan includes, per Blueink's pricing page, checked October 7, 2026:

The pricing page's compare table ticks integrations with Nintex, Zapier, Power Automate and Microsoft 365 on Enterprise only, and the site menu lists Airtable, ClickUp, Google Drive, HubSpot, Salesforce, ServiceDesk and Slack.
What Blueink does well
Blueink's strengths are real, and they are why its reviews are high.
- It costs less than DocuSign for a team. Reviewers who compared it with DocuSign name price, and Blueink's own cards put Standard at "40% less" than DocuSign's.
- Payments and ID checks on the cheapest plan. Standard includes Blueink Payments and SMS PIN, selfie and ID authentication.
- Signing by text message. Documents can go out by SMS, which reviewers like. The plan cards list SMS delivery from Business Pro; the compare table ticks it on Standard too.
- Support that reviewers praise. Many positive reviews praise support, and the compare table lists onboarding and training on Enterprise.
- No payment details for the trial. The pricing FAQ says the 14-day trial needs no payment information upfront.
- An API and an MCP server. Both exist, on separate API plans or Enterprise; see below.
Blueink pricing in 2026 (checked October 2026)
Blueink sells its app by the user, by the month or the year. Here is what its pricing page listed on October 7, 2026, before tax:
| Plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Envelopes | Templates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | $22.50 a user a month | $15 a user a month ($180 a year) | 10 a user a month, or 120 a year annually | 5 a user |
| Business Pro | $45 a user a month | $30 a user a month ($360 a year) | 150 a user a month, or 1,800 a year | 12 a user |
| Blueink Unlimited | $55 a user a month | $40 a user a month ($480 a year) | Unlimited | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | "Let's talk" | "Let's talk" | Priced per envelope | Unlimited |
The rest of the terms, from the same page and Blueink's help center:
- Going over your envelopes. The FAQ says "You can purchase additional capacity to accommodate your needs if you exceed your allocated usage within your chosen envelopes. At Blueink, we don't charge overage penalties to our customers." No price for extra capacity is published.
- Enterprise is priced per envelope. The help center says it "starts at a minimum envelope allotment of 1,000 per year", with the price per envelope set by the allotment you buy.
- A 14-day free trial, with "No payment information is required upfront", per the FAQ. There is no free plan.

What Blueink's contract says about refunds and renewals
The weak point a small buyer should read first is in the terms of use, last updated September 25, 2026 and checked October 7, 2026.
- No refunds. "Except as expressly provided in these Terms, all charges and payments are non- refundable, non-cancellable, and non-creditable."
- Plans renew on their own. A monthly plan renews for another month and an annual plan for another 12 months, unless written notice of non-renewal is given "at least thirty (30) days before the end of the then-current Subscription Term."
- You pay for the whole term. The terms say the customer "agrees to pay applicable fees for the entire Subscription Term" and cannot cancel a term except for cause.
- Prices can change at renewal. Renewals are "at Blueink's then-applicable rates."
Blueink's help center says self-serve customers can cancel with a "Cancel Subscription" button on the Subscription page, and Enterprise customers cancel through chat support. Under the terms, cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current one.
Does Blueink have an API and an MCP server?
Yes to both, but neither comes with Standard, Business Pro or Unlimited. The pricing page lists "API and Embedded Signing Access" on Enterprise only, and sells API plans separately. Here is what the API pricing page listed on October 7, 2026:
| API plan | Billed monthly | Billed annually | Envelopes | Developer accounts | Templates |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bronze | $108 a month | $90 a month ($1,080 a year) | 50 a month | 1 | 5 |
| Silver | $288 a month | $240 a month ($2,880 a year) | 150 a month | Up to 5 | 15 |
| Gold | $579 a month | $480 a month ($5,760 a year) | 500 a month | Up to 10 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Unlimited |
Every API plan includes unlimited test envelopes. Blueink also sells API credits that "Use your credits whenever you need them", from $0.95 an envelope at 1,000 credits down to $0.24 at 1,000,000.
The MCP server launched on September 4, 2026. Blueink's blog says it "works with a standard API key, the same one used for the Blueink REST API", and lists Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf and VS Code with GitHub Copilot as clients.
Per the same post, an assistant connected to it can:
- create and send an envelope from an existing template;
- search envelopes, check signer status and pull envelope details;
- list templates and download signed PDFs;
- check that the API connection is healthy.
Since it runs on an API key, and API access is on API plans or Enterprise, an AI assistant sending Blueink envelopes means paying for one of those on top of, or instead of, your app plan.
Is Blueink secure and compliant?
Blueink's compliance page lists SOC2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, FERPA, Annex 11, Sarbanes Oaxley (as spelled there), PCI DSS and Safe Biopharma, and says its signatures meet the ESIGN Act and UETA. It names no auditor and no report dates.
Two details are worth checking before you rely on them. The pricing page lists HIPAA compliance on Enterprise only. And while the pricing page and compliance page say SOC 2 Type II, the compare table on the API pricing page says "SOC 2 Type 1" (checked October 7, 2026). Ask Blueink for the current report in writing.
What a year of Blueink costs at 5, 10 and 25 documents a month
For one sender, a year of Blueink costs $180 at 5 or 10 documents a month and $360 at 25, on annual billing. The table uses the cheapest plan that covers each volume, at prices checked October 7, 2026 on Blueink's pricing page, before tax:
| Volume, one sender | Cheapest Blueink plan that fits | 1 year, annual billing | 1 year, monthly billing | 3 years, annual | Per document, annual |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 a month (60 a year) | Standard | $180 | $270 | $540 | $3.00 |
| 10 a month (120 a year) | Standard, exactly at the cap | $180 | $270 | $540 | $1.50 |
| 25 a month (300 a year) | Business Pro (Standard caps at 10) | $360 | $540 | $1,080 | $1.20 |
At 10 a month you sit right on Standard's cap, so one busy month on a monthly plan pushes you to buy extra capacity or move to Business Pro. Blueink does not publish what extra capacity costs.
Which Blueink plan fits you
Match the plan to who sends, how many envelopes, and whether you need the API.
| You are | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One person or a small team sending up to 10 a month each | Standard, $180 per user a year | Payments, ID checks and 5 templates each |
| A team that needs SMS delivery and reminders, or up to 150 a month each | Business Pro, $360 per user a year | Reminder emails and 12 templates start here, and SMS delivery on the plan cards |
| A team that wants shared teams, signing brands or no envelope count | Blueink Unlimited, annual, $480 per user a year | Teams and signing brands are annual only |
| A team that needs bulk send, SSO or HIPAA | Enterprise, through sales | Those are Enterprise only |
| A developer, or anyone who wants the MCP server | An API plan, from $90 a month billed annually | The MCP server uses an API key |
| One person signing a few documents a month, unevenly | Probably not Blueink | A monthly seat with no refunds; see the last section |

How I reviewed Blueink
This review is based on Blueink's public pages, pricing and user reviews. For it I read Blueink's own pages and what its users wrote from 2022 to 2026, and checked everything again on October 7, 2026:
- Vendor pages: the platform pricing page with its compare table and FAQ, the API plans and pricing page, the terms of use (last updated September 25, 2026), the compliance page, the September 4, 2026 blog post on the MCP server, and help center articles on the Standard and Enterprise plans and on managing a subscription.
- Review platforms: Capterra, Software Advice and G2, reviews dated 2022 to 2026. Trustpilot has no reviews, I found no Blueink app in the App Store or Google Play, and no Product Hunt reviews page.
- Forums: I searched Reddit and Hacker News and found no discussion of Blueink's e-signature product.
Who should skip Blueink, and what to use instead
Keep Blueink if your team sends steadily and wants templates, payment collection, SMS delivery, ID or selfie checks, teams, or integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot or Microsoft 365. If your business needs HIPAA, go with Blueink Enterprise; if you just need your business documents signed without paying extra for that, use SignWith.
Skip Blueink if you are one or two people who want a simple way to get a document signed, a few times a month and unevenly, with no seat, no renewal date and no refund policy to watch. That is who we built SignWith for.
SignWith has no seats and no subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. Every signed document uses one of your free monthly documents or a credit, including one that only you sign, and a declined, voided or expired document uses none.
- Upload a PDF, JPEG or PNG, add signature, date, text and checkbox fields, and set the signing order.
- Your recipients sign in the browser on any device, with no account.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
10 signed documents a month for a year, one sender
- SignWith, cheapest packs84 paid documents: 1 x Basic + 1 x Pro + 1 x Business$57
- SignWith Lifetime Dealone-time, unlimited credits$149
- Blueink Standard, one user, annual$180 per year$180
Here is the same year, side by side, at all three volumes. Blueink prices checked October 7, 2026; SignWith prices render from our pricing data, and the free monthly documents continue after you buy packs.
| Volume | Blueink, 1 year (annual) | SignWith, 1 year |
|---|---|---|
| 5 a month | $180 (Standard) | 3 free a month cover 36 documents; one Pro pack covers the other 24 for $19 |
| 10 a month | $180 (Standard) | 84 paid documents: one Business, one Pro and one Basic pack, $29 plus $19 plus $9 |
| 25 a month | $360 (Business Pro) | 264 paid documents: the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, cheaper than buying packs |
At today's prices that saves $161 (89%) at 5 a month, $123 (68%) at 10 and $211 (59%) at 25, in the first year. Over 3 years, Blueink comes to $540, $540 and $1,080 at those volumes on annual billing, against the Lifetime Deal at $149 one-time, once.
If one person sends more than 53 documents a month, every month, Blueink's Business Pro starts to beat SignWith's packs in the first year, though never the Lifetime Deal, which costs less than one year of Business Pro.
Blueink has its own MCP server, so AI access is not the difference. The difference is how you pay: Blueink's MCP server runs on an API key, and API access sits on API plans from $90 a month billed annually, or on Enterprise. SignWith takes a different route:
- An API and an MCP server on every account. SignWith has a REST API and an MCP server for AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code, so your own code or your assistant can send documents for signature.
- The same credits as the app. No subscription, no developer plan, 3 free documents a month, then you buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed.
- The same fit. The API doesn't change who SignWith suits: a team that wants an assistant sending from saved templates today should still look at Blueink, because SignWith templates are coming soon.
SignWith templates, reminders, bulk send, team accounts and integrations are coming soon, so if you need any of those today, Blueink is the better buy. SignWith is used by 1,000+ businesses, and you can start free with no card.
No subscription. You buy credits, and a credit is used only when a document is signed. One credit covers one signed document, however many people sign it.
- Unlimited credits
- Never expires
- One-time payment

Can I get a refund from Blueink?
- Blueink's terms of use (last updated September 25, 2026) say all charges and payments are non-refundable. Plans renew automatically unless written notice of non-renewal is given at least 30 days before the end of the term. Self-serve plans can be cancelled from the Subscription page, per the help center.

- Yes. The API is on Enterprise or on separate API plans, from $90 a month billed annually for 50 envelopes a month. The MCP server, launched September 4, 2026, uses a standard Blueink API key and works with clients such as Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code (checked October 2026).
E-signature rules vary by country, state and document type, so check with a legal professional that an e-signature suits your specific agreement before you rely on it.
