Good to know

A signature image is not the same as an e-signature

The PNG you make here is a picture of your signature. It is handy for email footers, letters and documents you sign yourself. When a signature needs to hold up later, what matters is the record around it: who signed, when, from where, and proof that nobody changed the file afterwards.

Signature image

  • Pasted into a file by you
  • No record of who placed it
  • Good for email footers and letters

E-signature in SignWith

  • Signers verify their identity with a one-time passcode sent to their email.
  • Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn a picture of my signature into a PNG?

Sign on plain white paper, take a photo with your phone, and add it above. The tool removes the paper, shadows and specks, and gives you just the ink as a transparent PNG cropped to your signature.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is processed in your browser and never sent to our servers. Once the page has loaded you can turn off your Wi-Fi and it still works.

Why is part of my signature missing or too thick?

Move the Ink pickup slider. Towards Faint picks up light strokes from a ballpoint pen; towards Bold only drops grey marks and paper texture. A darker pen and daylight give the cleanest result.

Can I change the colour of the ink?

Yes. Keep the original pen colour, or switch to black, blue or navy. Blue ink is a common choice for documents, so a signed copy is easy to tell from a photocopy.

There is other writing in my photo. What do I do?

Drag across the photo to select just the signature. Only the selected area is converted.

How is this different from a background remover?

General background removers look for a subject such as a person. This tool looks for pen strokes on paper, evens out the lighting first, and keeps fine strokes that background removers often cut off.
