A signature image is not the same as an e-signature
The PNG you make here is a picture of your signature. It is handy for email footers, letters and documents you sign yourself. When a signature needs to hold up later, what matters is the record around it: who signed, when, from where, and proof that nobody changed the file afterwards.
Signature image
- Pasted into a file by you
- No record of who placed it
- Good for email footers and letters
E-signature in SignWith
- Signers verify their identity with a one-time passcode sent to their email.
- Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
Frequently asked questions
What is an initials signature?
- It is a short form of your signature made from the first letters of your names, such as "JE" for Jordan Ellis. Contracts, leases and loan papers often ask you to initial each page or each clause to show you have read it.
How do I make my initials look like a signature?
- Type your full name or just your initials and press Generate. The AI sets them in 12 handwriting styles, from calligraphy to quick handwritten strokes, and ranks the ones that suit your letters best.
Can I use two or three initials?
- Yes. Type your full name and the generator takes up to three initials, or type the initials yourself, such as "JME". You can also switch to a short form like "J. Ellis".
How do I add my initials to every page of a PDF?
- Download the PNG, then place it on each page in a PDF editor such as Adobe Acrobat Reader (Fill & Sign) or Preview on a Mac. When a document goes to other people to sign and initial, an e-signature service places the initials fields for them.
Is it free, and is my name stored?
- It is free with no account and no watermark. The initials are drawn in your browser, so your name is not sent to our servers.
Do initials count as a signature?
- Initials usually confirm that you saw a page or agreed to a change, while the full signature confirms the agreement as a whole. What a document needs depends on the document, so follow the instructions on it.
