How the Checkbox field works
On this page
A Checkbox field lets a signer tick a box, for example to accept an optional clause or confirm they have read something. Checkboxes are not required by default, so signers can finish without ticking them.
Add a checkbox
- Click Checkbox in the ADD FIELDS TO YOUR DOCUMENT panel.
- Draw a small box right next to the sentence it belongs to.
- In the FIELDS list, hover over "Checkbox 1" and click the gear.

Checkbox settings
- Required: off by default. Turn it on only if the signer must tick the box to finish.
- Checked: the box starts ticked.
- Description: a note about the field.
- Page 1: shows which page the field is on.
Checkbox has no Copy to All Pages setting. For consent, leave Checked off so the signer ticks the box themselves.
What the signer sees
The checkbox is one step in the signing card. The signer ticks it, or leaves it, and clicks NEXT. The box is outlined on the page, so the sentence beside it explains what they are agreeing to. Renaming the field with the pencil icon, for example "Case study consent", makes it easy to find in the FIELDS list.
