Sign a document you received

If someone sent you a document through SignWith, you sign it in your browser, usually in about two minutes. You do not need a SignWith account and there is nothing to install.

Open the document

  1. Open the email titled "You are invited to sign a document".
  2. Click Review and sign.
  3. Read the document. Fields you need to fill in are highlighted in blue.
  4. Click AGREE AND SIGN DOCUMENT at the bottom.

DECLINE and DOWNLOAD are at the top of the page. If you do not want to sign, click DECLINE.

Fill in each field

A card opens at the bottom of the screen and takes you through one field at a time. The dots at the top of the card show your progress.

  1. Signature: draw with your mouse or finger, or click TYPE or UPLOAD. CLEAR starts again.
  2. Initials: type them, or click DRAW or UPLOAD.
  3. Date: click Set Today or pick a date.
  4. Text, number and checkbox: type your answer or tick the box.
  5. Click NEXT after each field, and COMPLETE on the last one.

The field you are on is outlined on the document, next to its printed label such as "Name:". Your steps depend on the fields the sender added, so you may see more or fewer than listed here.

When you have finished

You see "Document has been signed!". Click SEND COPY VIA EMAIL to email yourself a copy, or DOWNLOAD to save it. When every party has signed, you also get an email with the signed document and the audit trail.
