Private by design

Your file never leaves your device

Most online PDF tools upload your document to their servers and promise to delete it later. This one opens and edits the file inside your browser with the open-source pdf.js and pdf-lib libraries, so there is nothing to upload and nothing to delete.

Check it yourself: once this page has loaded, turn off your Wi-Fi. The tool keeps working.

This free tool

  • No upload, no account
  • No watermark, no daily limit
  • For documents you prepare yourself

When others need to sign

  • Signers verify their identity with a one-time passcode sent to their email.
  • Every completed document comes with a Certificate of Completion that records timestamps, IP addresses, device and browser details and email events, sealed with a SHA-256 hash.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a document to PDF without a scanner?

Take a photo of each page with your phone, add the photos above, and press Download PDF. The tool evens out shadows and whitens the paper so the pages read like a scan, then puts them into one PDF.

Do I need to install an app?

No. It works in the browser on iPhone, Android and desktop. On a phone, Take a photo opens your camera directly.

Are my pages uploaded?

No. The photos are processed and turned into a PDF in your browser, and never sent to our servers. Once the page has loaded you can turn off your Wi-Fi and it still works.

Which cleanup should I choose?

Color keeps stamps, highlights and colored ink. Grayscale suits most letters and forms. B&W gives the sharpest, smallest file for text-only pages. Original leaves the photo as taken.

What page size will the PDF be?

US Letter by default, with each photo fitted and centered. Choose A4 for international paper, or Fit to photo to keep each page exactly as photographed.

I scanned a signed document. How do I send it back?

Email the PDF, or skip the printing next time: send the document with SignWith and the other side signs on their own device, with a record of who signed and when.

Need someone else to sign it?

Upload a PDF, sign it yourself or send it to others, and get a signed copy with a full record. 3 free documents every month, no card needed.
