What the Certificate of Completion shows

Updated
On this page

When a document is fully signed, SignWith creates a Certificate of Completion, also called the audit trail. It records who signed, when, from where, and what they entered, plus a fingerprint that shows the document has not changed. The AUDIT LOG button opens it.

Open the certificate

  1. Open the completed document's submission from your dashboard.
  2. Click AUDIT LOG.
  3. The certificate opens as a 2-page PDF in a new tab.
  4. Save or print it from your browser's PDF viewer.

Every party also gets the certificate by email when signing is finished. See Get a copy of the signed document.

Page 1: Certificate of Completion

  • The document name and number of pages.
  • The date and time it was completed, with the time zone.
  • Each participant, with their email, IP address and browser.
  • Every field value, including an image of each signature.

Page 2: Event history and document integrity

  • A timeline with times and IP addresses: email sent, email link clicked, form viewed, submission started and submission completed.
  • Document integrity: the SHA256 fingerprint of the original document and of the signed result. If even one character of the file changed, the fingerprint would not match.

Each time on the certificate shows its time zone, for example CEST. Keep the certificate with the signed document, so you can show when and how it was signed.
